August 24 Eugene Oregon

I set a Goal for myself at the Eugene Paint Out on Saturday 8/22 to paint larger than I usually do. I completed (2) 12 x 16 inch Plein Air paintings on Saturday. Usually I do 9 x 12 inch paintings in 2 or 3 hours.

The competition allowed us to start painting at 8am and by 4pm turn in 2 completed and framed paintings. I made it with a half hour to spare! Although I didn’t get any recognition from the juror this time, I did receive many compliments on my paintings and feel good that I produced 2 quality paintings. Paintings will be on display and for sale at the Hult Center in Eugene from 8/25 to 9/2.

I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. I have a minor in Visual Arts from UCSD where I received my BA in Biology. I am inspired by Nature and love hiking in California's Sierra Nevada and diving beneath the surface of the Pacific Ocean. I enjoy the interplay of painting Plein Air, being an outdoor photographer, and creating paintings in the studio.

  1. Interested to see these in person. The bridge is filled with happy light, almost etherial. The emptiness of the railroad track pulls us into the unknown. Bravo!
